Monsoon Update

Monsoon has entered from the eastern Nepal as of today (Friday, 20 June) and has advance up to some parts of central region. The arrival of monsoon this year in Nepal is delayed by 10 days against the normal onset date. The normal onset date is 10 June for eastern Nepal and 12 June for Kathmandu.
Based on the weather records, many places of the eastern and central regions received light to moderate monsoon rainfall during last 24 hours. The country also experienced brief rain or thundershowers earlier at some places. Those weather activities in the past were associated with local convective phenomena.
As per the current weather analysis, monsoon will likely to cover the entire country within next couple of days.
